Wall Hanging ..Mixed Media 12"x7"
My version of a wall hanging after the style of Mixed Media Artist Beryl Taylor here
Click on the pictures to enlarge.
This is a big challenge for me a first !
I have to say i am very inspired by this ladies work,Found her tutorial for making fabric paper here
That started the ball rolling,I loved the effect,I used a chiffon type fabric for this, just loved the way the colours merged,I wanted to keep away from the pretty pinks and blues,so decided to use Brusho paints which work beautifully on fabric, using yellow and blue hey presto GREEN lol..........
The backgound turned into a tree type impression,so i worked on a sort of theme, with all my creations it just sort of snowballs, this is the result ! not perfect ,but I loved every minute !
The bottom picture is the fabic paper before I started,I then attached that to 300LB weight Watercolour Paper.
Not sure if this is finished yet, keep looking at it,may make some improvements .....Must make some more of this fabric paper in different colours next lol.
I think I must have used every material known to man or us crafters haha......The brown squares are card covered in satin, the round discs were white plastic,I altered with alcohol inks and stamped the ladies,,then actually sewed them onto the satin squares with gold thread (thats another first ! )
The scripted heart is clay brocade painted with gold Luminere Paints...silver heart altered with inks........little tag's made with my Cuttlebug machine, then covered with fabric paper,my old jewellery came into play here and there, the lace piece is over 100yrs old,I bought on Ebay a huge amount to cut up,quite cheap,I,m going to dye some for future projects.

Technique Swap
Another enjoyable Technique 4x4 page swap I did with Debs (Rustycage11)here
Papercasting technique's are the last 2
1 I used a butterfly rubber stamp
2 A fairy rubber stamp
The method is using toilet paper believe it or not lol ,first laying down a deeply etched rubber stamp, then covering it with a layer of toilet paper, spray with water,I used a brush to stipple it into the stamp, then gradually built up layers the same way, around 9 in all, then leave to dry overnight, peel off.
Paint or colour anyway you like.
The top 2 are the Tissue Paper technique
The Silver Butterfly... I first made a butterfly with my cuttlebug machine then covered with tissue and painted with Metalic Luminere Paints,I also did the same for the background ,just crunch up a piece of tissue then flatten out glue onto card then paint, makes a nice textured finish, inside the little doors is a tiny painted landscape in acyrlics.
Oriental
Same method, but this one I added a packing tape transfered image, under acetate and brads.
I just received Debs pages this morning,VERY creative work using the same techniques.

Didnt I do well !!
Had a really good morning at the secondhand market today! the guy on the antique stall had loads of new stuff in he hadnt sorted,as we are getting to know each other now he said, dig in enjoy yourself,I'll do you a deal !so here are my findings,I could have been sorting it out all day lol, these pieces cost me £5 all together,I have left a few bits out for my next project, cant wait to get started :-]
Fabric altered beermat
I just had to try something with fabric, hoping to get away from actual sewing, the only sewing here was the transfered image onto fabric, which I padded slightly, and the buttons, its a feeble attempt, but just had to get it out my system lol.
I did the tranfered image of the little girl with freezer paper through my printer, scary but very effective !

Another Addiction !
He's called The Protector !after the style of jeanettejanson...here
Another one for my Mad Mamma Group .
I just love making these birds,I think its mainly because I can use very nearly all the materials in my stash, this one I used Tin lid, clay, chain, beads, wicker bits the cat pulled off my chair (lucky or not so lucky lol) paper collage, gold wire,Anita's 3D gloss etc etc(mixed media?)......I didnt have a theme or plan when I started, the main thing was, finding a birds head, then it all started to come together. The key I coloured with alcohol inks, useing E6000 for all my gluing as it was going onto the tin lid, most of it,the wings are clay made in a mold, and painted with Metalic paints..........I need to replenish my stash with old jewellery, chains, keys etc,so maybe off to the second hand market tomorrow !

Technique Book
I just had to blog this book...
This morning I had a package of 12 4x4 technique pages come from my UK art swaps group,we each did 12 pages to swap of different techniques, discribing on the back how we did each one,I just had to make my book,as I already had 4x4 acrylic clear covers, and had to do my tin cuttlebug butterfly on the front, coloured with alcohol inks.
It makes a lovely reference book to look through, full of inspiration, when the minds blank lol.
Thankyou girls,just love it !!
