Fabric Postcards

I get very bored on Saturdays,whenever that happens i make my way to the art room ,thats what happened yesterday !I really love to make postcards,so throwing a load of already dyed fabric pieces and felts etc,I began to get ideas,I first made a stamp out of Fun Foam of some ferns,my hands dont like me putting pressure on them due to RA, so the ferns were simple and quick...... No 1 the poppies are a section taken from an oil painting i finished last year,I transfered the image onto fabric through my printer,then added black beads for the poppy centres,,first i stamped the ferns over the top with Luminere paint,which drys very quickly.I layered onto stiff Vilene,was really pleased with the outcome. The next was just a matter of arranging and designing what i had to hand,felts and fabric images beads etc..the afternoon just flew ! hope you like, I was pleased to fill another day creating something from nothing as it were :))

I,m just giving this pen and ink work an airing,i drew it from life years ago for my father,it sat on his wall for years, he passed away five yrs ago so i now have it back,I couldnt believe the patience i had in those days lol,I just wanted to show it on my blog,it holds lots of memories for me.

Book of Days Continues.........

Yes i,m still plodding on with my Book of Days,and no I would,nt have believed I would stick at it this long,so pleased i did, I have learned so much ! These books are all completed,now i have to make my volume IV for the month of May..........and who would believe i would be painting ladies!

This is a closeup of modelling paste scraped over a mask (stencil) then I used Pan Pastels to colour,Love the effect !

Fabric Postcard

Havent been feeling to good lately this wet weather is playing havoc with my arthritis,have such a lot of swaps and stuff to do,thought i would make a start this morning,its just tipping it down out there ughhhh. So just finished No 1 swap this fabric postcard,fabric dye'd with Colour wash sprays,the heart i cut out on my diecut machine and backed with felt,I am now devastated as my printers packed in my own fault doing these transfered images through it on freezer paper,I think dust from the fabric has built up round the rollers so it keeps sticking,oooh well,puts thinking cap on,what to do next,it was doing such a good job with these images too ! There is beads hanging on the metal ring you cant see here !

Happy Easter !

Yes i,m still into my book of Days art journal,started a new book for the month of April A4 size,I so enjoyed making it ! So of course the first page was April 1st,which just happened to be Palm Sunday ..........

I never thought i would be into drawing and painting this sort of thing below,but Effy Wild so inspires me ! quite pleased with the outcome,with the aid of Masks(stencils)Tim Holtz colour washes for backgrounds,paint and all sorts,making lots of layers ! enjoyed !!

Effy Wilds Book of Days

I,m still plodding on with my Book of Days,and hopefully the novelty wont wear off,Effy Wild,s link is at my sidebar on the right if you would like to join,I,m finding at the moment its a great way of making sure i do a little bit of Art work each day,then i can look back at this and see how i,ve progressed,also a brilliant way of playing around with new art supplies,experimenting too,which i have done in this pic,using my new Tim Holtz Distress Stains,and some diecuts. Debs (Rustycage) came to see me for a visit last week,we had a lovely day swapping Tim Holtz diecuts,she bought over the ones i havent got,sooo Debs you can see i have used the Cabinet Card and the Heart in these pages :)) I havent given up on my fabric art,have started on a new swap,creating a Fabric Tag Book,but wont be able to show the pics till around May when the tags go into the group.Thanks to Effy Wild for finding my Mojo for me lol,have so much to do now,dont know where to start :)) 2 more pages nearly finished January !

Completed Book Cover

This is for "The Book Of Days" project re:last post,enjoyed myself today slapping paint about again,I layered up using Gesso first after sanding the shine off my book,using Acrylic paint next, after that I applied strips and pieces of paper using Mod Podge to fix,the Butterfly was a problem,I used Effy Wilds method,stamping on tissue then tearing and sticking down,I didnt like the effect as the colours changed,used a Sharpie pen to try and alter it,still wasnt happy,so painted over the top with Gesso then the paint,lo and behold the thing came through,I loved it ! happy mistake's happen.........The book Plate is a Tim Holtz,they are really nice,now i,ll be kept busy HOPEING to fill the pages lol,I also used crackle glaze to fix. Book of Days

This is something new for me !I have just joined Effy Wilds "Book of Days" here

This is the second stage of my book cover, am just waiting for it to dry,(dont you just hate drying time ! ) I am really wanting to get back into painting and paper craft,(keep loosing my mojo)a friend suggested I try this program with Effy Wild,she is a mixed media artist,we can work along with her each week by vidio to create a book of days,we each choose a word for our book that reflects each one of us,my word is HOPE,as i,m hoping to fulfil all my artistic projects in the coming year,and HOPE to at least spend an hour a day creating something even if its just a mess lol.In this book (like a journal)I hope to portray or doodle something about my day,I found a small (handbag size) sketch book,years old,forgot i had it,now to give it a new lease of life !
