Play Day !

I love making these,I timed myself it just took an hour to do,so easy,2 dominoes,some alcohol inks,a rubber stamp,(Stazon ink pad) gold embossing powder,cut the paper to size and fold,decorate,then I used UHU glue for fixing(very reliable,its not going to fall apart !)and some ribbon. They make nice little gifts for Arty friends :) I didn't have any green ribbon,boohoo,but looks ok !

Its all been happening !

First off my friend and I went to Covent Garden for a first time meet up with the Facebook Art Journaling Group girls,Dees came over from Amsterdam to meet us UK girls,a great time was had by all ! The other pics are an evening art journaling at mine with Harlow crafters lol ! what a mess ! hahaaa great evening,believe it or not some nice artwork was achieved,lots of fun. I did a little demo,although I,m still learning it was a first for the others,heres the end results

Recycling !

My recycled book made completely from cereal and shoe boxes ! Inspired by Jenniebellie here I went mostly my own way by using acrylic paints and scrim for the cover,the heart was made with my embellishing machine and a metal butterfly attached,which a friend gave me as the pin at the back was broken.The inside pages are all recycled cardboard, first painted,using masks and sprays,Tags stamping etc.The ribbons I tied into some sequin waste,then used UHU glue to attach. Warning this is very addictive !have now started a mini one lol Some inside pages,not quite finished,I keep going back and adding more as the mood takes me :)

Back to Oil Paint !

"Summer Flowers " which i started last Summer ! just finished,it was my birthday flowers given to me last June,Lucky i took a photo so i could paint at my leisure. Its been a bad winter for me the aches and pains get worse,of course its to be exspected at my age lol,roll on the Spring and lets get some warmth in these old bones :) This ones got me in the mood for painting again,so have to dig out some canvas,s !

The latest page in blues,lots of layering with masks ,inks and paint,the flowers are napkin cutouts fixed with Mod Podge......hopefully get back to fabric Art next,I,m feeling like a change :)

Its a Challenge !

I woke at 5am this morning in pain,the only way to deal with that is to take painkillers of course and to keep the mind occupied,so this week challenge in my group was to make a Valentine card not using red..... I felt like getting back to fabric for awhile,it took me around 2hrs to come up with this idea,playing around with ideas, ended up with a fabric padded heart on card... lace and satin background,2 smaller hearts cut out in flowery fabric and some pretty buttons i had for a Xmas prezzie,the image is fabric too.I had to paint the ribbon to match.......on my list ,needs more ribbons ! I got back to bed around an hour later feeling a lot better :)

Journaling pages

Today i felt like playing with paint,its been snowing most of the day,the light in my craft room was the best this year !I felt all warm and cosy seeing the snow blizzard outside,a great day for arting. The prompt in my art group was " If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?" this is the outcome,actually did a page yesterday as well i will add below.Also another page from last weeks play. This top one i used Inktense blocks,moulding paste and Panpastels for the background........not to good at faces,had a go though lol. The other is Dylusion Inks and masks,its all hit and miss experiments with these background,I do enjoy playing :)

Operation Butterfly !

Just completed my Butterfly for this Project,you can read all about it here Its a joint effort as most people in my craft group are creating a butterfly,so Clare our organiser can then send them off all together to the US.My one is roughly 6"x6". Anyone can join in and do this,a nice idea to remember all the children lost. This top pic I did with watercolours as the back, and below is the front created with Dylusion inks,stamping and promarkers. Enjoyed !

Happy New Year ! 2013

Happy New year bloggers ! This Christmas i bought myself a Dylusions Journal as a treat it was on my wish list,it started off as a complete blank A4 thick book,this hopefully will last me all year ! for when i,m in the mood to just throw some paint around and try to be creative :) I have been itching to make a start on it all over Xmas and now i have ! It was a daunting task,really had to think about what i wanted to say,also what materials to use. I had a couple of lovely textured canvases as Xmas prezzies and noticed the artists had used Scrim to add texture,so thought i would like to try this. First to start on the cover,I Gesso'd over then sprayed Dylusion Inks over using turquoise and greens,also Luminere paints,(used makeup sponges to smooth out the colour)then masks to pattern over,Once dry, coated over with Golden Gloss Gel,laid my scrim down,went over that with the gel too,also sprayed some more colour,I had some nice grungy letters in my stash to paint,using UHU glue to fix.A big area to cover,easier than i thought and didnt take long ! So now opening the book there is a hardback cover inside to create my first page for 2013 !I belong to an Art Group on FB where we get prompt's each week,this is the first,"Goodbye 2012"........here it is finished phewwww.....all done ,now looking forward to next weeks ! Wishing you all a lovely Arty crafty year ahead!

All Wrapped up for Christmas !

Yes,everythings done all my Xmas prezzies wrapped ,cards gone,today i finished off two hand made gifts,one large sketch book,The cover handpainted with metalic acyrlics using a brayer,a napkin rose Mod Podged on,bookmark inside to match,pleased with that one,tempted to keep lol. The small one i used my vagabond machine to cut the pages and covers,used Kay&Co papers,then added some beads.Sooo easy and quick took about an hour to make ! (these things have to pay for themselves lol) I expect your all so busy getting ready for Christmas,hope you all have a lovely time and receive lots of crafty goodies. My thanks to everyone for all your support and lovely comments !xxx Heres wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year !

Its getting to feel like Xmas !

Still plodding on making my Christmas cards ! This is the first time i have ever made a card with my original watercolour painting on,I was remembering back to when I painted Snow Barns for a cancer charity,and thought maybe i can do some little ATC size ones to put on some of my cards this year,I did this little sepia one then matched it up with papers and diecuts,made a couple of flowers,put some sparkle on the barn roof,suprised myself thought it looked quite nice :) This is the actual card i did years ago,I donated it for charity,they published it for Christmas cards that year

Fabric Wall Hanging

The Challenge for this coming Monday in my local craft group is to create something in sepia colours,I have been wanting to get back to fabric and lace,this is what i came up with,took me all day yesterday I did enjoy myself though :) Its layered onto felt using pieces of lace i had in my stash but had to spray dye with Sticky Fingers walnut,the image is tranfered through my printer with freezer paper,thats the only way i can get a decent image,god knows how my printer survives this lol..........the medalions at the bottom I cut off an old top before throwing it away(recycling lol).I used alcohol inks on the key.When finished i backed it onto hardboard 8"x8" not forgetting to put the ribbon in between first for hanging!
